Using VLC Player to Record Your Mac Webcam Browse to the location where you’d like to save the file, give the file a name, and click the Save button. Choose Save… from the File menu to save the new file.ĩ. By default, the file isn’t saved, so you’ll need to do that manually. Now that the recording is complete, the finished file will appear in its own QuickTime Player window. In our testing, it seems like it takes a few seconds for QuickTime to actually start recording, so give yourself about five seconds of “pre-roll” time before you start performing.ħ.
